He choose side and I want him to begin deployment. He deploy in a corner “hinding” behind the building.
I want to intercept his thicket beasts with my flaming block in his flank to prevent him from taking scenario.
I deploy flyers evenly around me to get eagles first of all.

He get first turn as he deployed the rest of his army at a point and got +3 to start.

Grudges: 2x Dryads, Thicket Beasts and Avatar of War
T1:
SE:

- He move his army forward.
- Magic 9-6: He fails boosted redwood shaft on 5 dice. He fails swarm of flies with the rest of his dice.

- I reposition flyer to take out eagles and to march over his units next turn.
- Blocks remain in position.
- Magic 4-2: I cast resilience on the Steam Bomber hiding behind the house.
- Catapult kill 1 dryad combined.
- Marksmen do 2W on the eagle. Busters fluff.

SE

- He moves his units up to a potential charge range on my units.
- Eagles move up to threaten catapults next turn.
- Magic 5-2: I dispel redwood shaft on a bomber. I spend my scroll on swarm of flies on the same bomber. This was really no point as a treefather would kill in anyway.
- Shooting from a treefather kill the bomber…

DH

- I move the big block and the small warrior unit back to lessen the possibility of charges getting in already.
- Copters reposition to catch eagles and fly over dryads next turn, he didn’t move as far as I hope for.
- One copter is positioned to re-direct the charge of a dryad block.
- Marksmen remains “close” to treefather to lure him into charging them. I plan to cast stubborn on them if I get decent magic flux.
- Engineer repositions to shoot eagle.
- Magic 2-2: He dispel stubborn on the Marksmen as this is not enough dice to really spike anything.
- Catapult does 3W on the treefather threatening my Marksmen.
- Flame Copter does 4W to the dryads.
- Buster cannot wound the eagle which already has 2W. Engineer + buster kill the unhurt eagle however.

SE

- Treefather charges marksmen. He get in on a 10+ roll. S&S does nothing against him.
- Eagle fails charge against the catapult.
- Dryads charge Flame copter.
- Units move up to threaten my blocks.
- Magic 6-6: I dispel redwood shaft
- Avatar and Treefather does 2W combined on the Flame Copter to the left.
- Treefather does 6W to the Marksmen, 5 of them on Stomp! They break but get away from him.

- The big block reform to horde formation facing his units coming in from my left.
- Small warriors move up to block off the charge of some of those units.
- Flame Copter moves into the middle of his units to flame some thicked beasts. I didn’t wanna risk DT when I only had 1W left in the forest. I would have preferred to use it to block the dryads.
- Busters reform to face the treefather.
- I throw the Engineer in front of the Treefather to prevent him from charging my big block in the rear.
- Magic 10-6: I get off resilience, distracting and stubborn on the small warriors.
- Shooting kills the eagle.
- Buster + engineer do nothing to treefather. With flaming weapons giving re-roll to wound I hope I could do at least out 1 wound to him and kill him.
- Flaming Catapults does 8W to Thicket beasts.

SE

- Treefather charges Engineer, he suffers 1W from S&S.
- Treekin charge warriors.
- Right Dryads move up to threaten the flank of my warriors in horde formation
- Avatar and Treefather move up /position to kill Flame Copter.
- Magic 11-6: He casts Wild 0 on the Thicket Beasts with an insane roll. I have to let it through, really should have had my scroll now. He casts Wild 0 on the dryads, which I dispel. I dispel swarm on the copter.
- Avatar kills the Copter with shooting.
- Treefather kills the engineer and overruns into the marksmen.

- Right Grudge buster charges the flank of the right dryads, need 7+.
- Main block charges the dryads, which are not buffed, need 6+.
- They both fail their charges, this is where I lost this game.
- Buster #2 charge the Treefather in the flank.
- Magic: 6-6: I get off resilience on the big block.
- Catapults deviate off left Thicket Beasts.
- Buster suffers 3W in CC from Treefather but takes 4W in return, dead.

SE:

- 2x Dryads, thicket beasts and Treefather charge the main block.
- Flank dryads fail their charge into my flank!
- Magic 9-6: He casts Wild 0 on the Dryads. He rolls poorly on the casting, but I roll even worse with more dice. I dispel Wild 0 on the Thicket Beasts.
- Forget to use me flaming banner!
- I loose combat but I’m steadfast with 1 models more than I need and hold.

- I charge the buster into the flank of the dryads again and get in this time.
- Magic 10-5: I get off distracting and stubborn on the big block. He dispel resilience on them.
- I use my flaming banner this time, suffers more wounds but hold on stubborn.
- Buster kills 6 dryads, they hold thanks to bsb re-roll.
T6:

SE:

- Magic 3-2. Nothing goes in.
- My big block breaks and escapes pursuit without running off the table.
- Buster kills a few more dryads, but they hold on steadfast.

DH:

- My big block rallies.
- Catapults deviate off Avatar of Nature
- Buster kills a few more Dryads, still holding on steadfast.

END GAME
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion:

I’ve lost scenario, I’ve lost 1600p while I’ve taken approx. 400p of his.
Result is a 19-1 to him including scenario.

- I felt this game was going quite good until both Grudge Buster and the big block both failed their charges and broke the game for me.

- The big block should also have charged the Thicket Beasts instead. On an avg. roll with re-roll to hit and re-roll to wound from flaming banner my unit would have killed his unit and my general would have killed his BSB. This is with avg. rolling, with Wild 0 buff and after casualties to my unit first. Afterwards I could have reformed and faced the left Dryads as the buster held up the other Dryad unit. This charge would also have been auto since I had a champion.

- Scenario would worst case be a draw as miners were standing in his zone already from T3 just waiting.

He choose side and deploy the first flag to the right. I want him to begin deployment. He deploy his entire army quite early and get first turn
I decide that I need to castle in a corner and head for the objective which I’ve deployed for exactly this. Hopefully I can use the house to my advantage to block some of his charges.
I’ve deployed a few flyer to block off my zone from scouts and try to get him in the other diagonal.

Miners ambush and skeletons riders scout/vanguard.

Grudges: 2x Dread Sphinx, 2x Battle Sphinx
T1:
UD:

- He move his army forward trying to outflank my flyers and get in position to charge my catapults early.
- Magic 10-7: I dispel Ring of Fire. I let through Sands 5 on my big block as I don’t plan to move them anyway. I dispel Sands 3 on archers.
- Shooting does nothing to by Buster.

- I reposition flyer to take out skeleton riders and line up for action in later rounds.
- Small warrior block marches up to hide behind the house.
- Blocks remain in position.
- Magic 7-4: I get off Distracting and resilience on Marksmen, stubborn is dispelled.
- Catapult #1 deviates off the Dread Sphinx.
- Catapult #2 does 1w on a Battle Sphinx on a partial hit.
- Buster, Engineer, 2x Copters and a Buster kills 4+2 skeleton riders from 2 different units.

- Dread Sphinx Charge a copter, I fail terror test and flee. He redirect into another copter which hold and he fails the charge.
- Skeleton riders charge the holding copter in the flank as I’ve misplaced it to expose my flank to them.
- He moves the sphinxes closer to my army.
- Magic 8-7: I dispel Ring of Fire. I scroll Sands 0. I dispel Sands 2 on the skeleton riders.
- Archers does 2W to my Buster.
- Skeleton riders fail to wound the Steam Bomber. He does 1w in return and hold.

- I move up a copter to block a battle sphinx charge
- Rest of the flyers reposition to take out the last of the skeleton riders.
- Small warriors swift reform to wheel in behind building and hide from sphinxes.
- Left grudge buster lines up for a flank charge on anything charging my big block or my marksmen.
- Magic 10-6: I get off Resilience on the Marksmen. Distracting and Stubborn is dispelled.
- Catapult does 3W to the Battle Sphinx.
- Catapult #2 fails to wound the Dread Sphinx.
- Buster + Engineer fails to kill the lone skeleton rider.
- Bomber kills the 2 remaining skeleton riders and reform.

- Dread Sphinx charge Flame copter, which fails terror and flee off the table. Dread Sphinx fails his charge.
- Left Dread Sphinx fails his charge against Marksmen and land in the forest taking 2w from DT.
- Battle Sphinx charge the copter blocking him.
- Chariots move onto the right flank and moves closer to my small warrior unit.
- Magic 10-7: I dispel Aura version of Sands 1. He fails to cast Sands 3. I dispel Sands 5.
- Shooting does nothing.

- The big block charges the now exposed sphinx, the block fails their 7+ charge.
- Grudge buster charge the same sphinx.
- Marksmen move up to be in the flank of the Dread sphinx next turn.
- Right buster charges the lone skeleton rider.
- Right copter hides behind the hill.
- Magic 11-5: Distracting goes off on buster. Resilience is dispelled on the Buster.
- Catapult kills the Battle Sphinx with 1W left.
- Catapult #2 does fails to wound a Sphinx again.
- Dread Sphinix does 2W to my buster I do nothing in return but hold.

- Left chariot unit charges the warriors. I choose to flee as I’m more than 9” away from the table edge. I roll 11” and flee off the table. I should have did S&S and held. Statistically I should have been good.
- Battle sphinx charges my big block.
- Battle Sphinx charge into my buster
- Magic 10-6: Sands 2 is cast on 27! I dispel Aura Sands 3.
- Archers does 2W on my buster again.
- BS kills my buster but roll too little to overrun into the big block.
- The sphinx kills 10 ish warriors. My king does 2x2W to the engaged sphinx. I hold on steadfast.

DH

- Marksmen charge to sphinx in the flank to hold it up and maybe do something to it
- Miners ambush and show up close to the right flag.
- Steam Bomber fly over chariot unit and position in the flank of the unit.
- Buster hides behind the hill with only 1W left.
- Magic 4-3: He scrolls resilience on the Marksmen.
- Catapults kill off the battlesphinx unengaged.
- My big block takes another 10 ish wound from the sphinx before they kill it.
- Marksmen takes 7W from Sphinx and inflict 1 in return. They hold.

- DS fails charge on my block.
- He moves up an architect to charge block me from getting into his sphinx.
- Magic 10-7: I dispel Sands 5 on my block. I dispel Ring of Fire. I fail to dispel re-roll to wound on the sphinx engaged with Marksmen and +1 Attack on the same sphinx.
- Dread Sphinx kills the Marksmen.

- The big block charge the architect.
- Steam bomber moves around chariots again.
- Miners move closer to the flag.
- Magic 10-6: I get off Resilience and stubborn on the big block. Distracting is dispelled.
- Catapult #1 misfires and cannot shoot anymore this game
- Catapult #2 fails to wound the sphinx with 4w left.
- Steam Bomber and miners reduce the chariot unit to 1 model left.
T6:

UD:

- Dread Sphinxes charge my big block.
- Right Chariots charge the miners.
- Riders fails their charge against the Steam Bomber, I do nothing on S&S.
- Magic 10-6: Sands 3 Aura goes off, Sands 1 Aura goes off, Sands 2 goes off. I roll terribly to dispel.
- Dread sphinxes does a lot of wounds to the unit. I don’t think I do anything in return but hold on Stubborn.
- Miners kill Chariot on S&S combined with CC.

- Miners marches to claim scenario.
- Magic 2-1: I roll poorly and stubborn is dispelled.
- Catapult deviates off chariots contesting the left flag.
- Sphinxes kills the rest of my GW warriors. Stomp kills off Runic Master and Thane. I break from combat. Sphinxes does not catch the King but he rolls just high enough to flee off the table.

Conclusion:

I’ve lost scenario, I’ve lost 1720p while I’ve taken approx. 1150p of his.
Result is a 15-5 to him including scenario.

- In this game my plan was to take out dread sphinxes before they could engage. I was really hurt by the 3-4 fail to wound rolls against them. On avg. I should have 1 failed to wound roll against them and at least 1 more dead sphinx before they could engage.

- The failed charge by my big block into his sphinx was the last thing that broke the game for me. If that would have gotten in I believe the big block would have survived the game.

- I waste my chance for scenario when the warriors fled from the chariots, stupid move by me.

- 5 sphinxes was a hard list to face, but he also played with 40p too much in his list, which is significant. As he is only on 635p in his core section meaning it must be taken from characters or sphinxes.

Right, nå sitter jeg på Gardermoen å venter på min flight til Athen. Gleder meg til både ESC og ETC! Dette blir knall! Skal se om ikke jeg får lagt ut noen oppdateringer ila uka, men kan ikke love noe mellom potensielt dårlig internett tilgang og øldrikking :)
